Personal History:

Argante was born in Ottawa Canada to her parents Argante and James. Her mother, Argante died during childbirth and it was her fathers wish to name her after her mother. She was brought up in Ottawa with her father and older brother Richard. During her first years her father blamed her for the death of her mother and was frequently away on business, leaving her and her brother Richard with a child’s day centre, though in time he realized what he had been doing and tried his best to become the father his wife would have wanted him to be. He still worked however and was frequently away on business for days or even weeks at a time.

From an early age she realized the best way to keep her mind off of the fact that she had little or no support through childhood was to keep herself busy. And she found a kind of solitude in studying martial arts. She had a natural talent for those such as Kendo and became the youngest person to win the national championships aged only 14.

As well as a talent for martial arts, she discovered she also had a natural talent for understanding the workings of the various ‘toys’ around the house and with the support from her brother, now studying for a degree in Positronic systems for medical uses, she honed this skill, much to the chagrin of her father who came home from work on many occasions to find bits of the replicator system scattered throughout the house as Argante worked on whatever ingenious idea she had thought of in school that day.
It was also in this year that her father met, and re-married to Estelle, Argante’s step-mother and in that year they had their first child together, Argante’s first of 2 younger sisters, Tara.

From the moment they met Estelle and Argante didn’t get along, Estelle hated Argante’s love for technology, and over the next few years tried to drive that love out of her, and when that failed she drove Argante out of her life.

By the time Argante was 19 Estelle had managed to drive Argante sufficiently away from her father that they rarely spoke and Argante had moved to live with some friends outside of the main city of Ottawa. She was now studying a 3 year course in ODN circuitry and systems, and thus it was from her brother Richard that she had heard of her second sister being born; Cecelia.
It was only when she completed her course the she decided she wanted to make a fresh start and informed her brother, and father that she was applying for Starfleet as an engineer.
It was a decision her brother supported as he always had, he was always pushing her to do more, to work harder and experience the best from life. But her father tried desperately to dissuade her from her choice, an attempt that failed and at 22 she was accepted into the Starfleet program, moving away to San Francisco to begin her training.

She hasn’t spoke to her father since, but keeps in contact with her brother now a lecturer in Calgary, and through him she communicates with her 2 sisters. The younger of which has never met her in person.
