Personal History:

Tobias Cavatica was born in Limassol, Cyprus, on Earth.  His parents were on vacation when his mother, Evelyn, went into labor early.  He grew up in a small suburban neighborhood of Toronto, and was a quick learner from the beginning.  He enjoyed history from a very young age, especially learning about ancient kingdoms and monarchies.  His first career decision was made at the age of 5, when he decided to be a King.

Tobias attended the local elementary school, where he excelled in almost all subjects.  It wasn’t until complex math came about that he found his weak point, but he pushed through it nonetheless.  His score record was perfect up until grade 7.  For unknown reasons, Tobias felt as if he didn’t fit in for the first time in his life.  This troublesome period, however, was a crucial point in his development, for it was then that he explored with the world around him and made up his mind to go to Starfleet.

It wasn’t until High School that Tobias’ education flourished once again.  Just as he had done in his younger years, his grades were well above average.  It was also during High School that he met who was to be the most influential person in his life: Dion Larson.  The two were friends from the beginning, though more came out of it quickly.  Tobias grew more because of Dion than anything else.  He learned to be more patient and careful towards others.  He also learned a lot about himself, his strengths and his weaknesses.  For four years, his relationship with Dion was the backbone of his life.

Tobias entered the Academy at the age of 18 after graduating from High School with high honors.  Though he found the classes challenging, he didn’t let them get in the way of his personal life.  Despite this struggle, Tobias and Dion mutually agreed to go their separate ways.  Tobias pursued his love of the arts throughout his Academy years.  He was named president of the Academy Art Society during his junior year.  He was frequently traveling with the society during vacations.  It was on one of those trips, when the group went to Mars, that Tobias was offered a highly reputable position at a museum by one of the Betazoids on vacation there.  Tobias turned him down, for he knew that his longing for exploration was more important to him.

Despite wanting to go into tactical training, Tobias pursued other classes at the Academy as well.  He was well versed in Diplomacy as well as many cultural studies.  He passed with the highest score of his Non-Federation Cultures class.  He hoped to move up in ranks and eventually become a Diplomat, though that was many years away.  He majored in Starship Weaponry and Communications.

He was promoted to Midshipman once he graduated the Academy and was assigned to the USS Philadelphia, where he is currently stationed as a tactical officer.

Long-Term Goals: Get promoted to Chief Tactical Officer.

Prejudices: Despite having an open mind, he dislikes and distrusts the Ferengi.

Questions

Best Time: A trip Tobias took to Mars when he was 19.  It’s one of the few memories he has of pure joy with most of his closest friends.  School was going great, his life was starting to settle into place and he was happier than he had ever been.
Most Crucial Experience: Deciding on pursuing a career in Starfleet at the age of 12.  Tobias was friends with the daughter of a Commander, who would often tell stories of what life was like in space.  Tobias had dreamed of it since.
