Personal History:

Born on Mars, and moved to Earth at the age 15 after a fight with his father over his work ethics. His father owned a shipping company, which dealt with shady people, and he wanted Josef to become involved in the family 'business'. He had thought his piloting skills would have been great when business deals didn't go so well. When Josef said he would rather have a career in Starfleet, then a life of shady deals and running from enemies, his father threw him out. They haven't spoken in four years.

Upon moving to Earth, he got a job in a restaurant in San Francisco, and used that money to rent a small apartment. He survived the first few months with money he had taken with him from his house on Mars, and living in his ship.

He first piloted a spacecraft at the age of six, when he 'borrowed' his fathers' business shuttle. He owns his own vessel, which was given to him by his father, on the same day as the fight. Their fight stemmed from the gift of the ship, because his father expected him to pilot it on a 'business' trip.

At the age of 17, Josef enrolled in Starfleet Academy, and he majored in Tactical Studies, and minored in Engineering. While at the Academy, his Starfleet career was almost cut short when he and a group of other cadets were involved in a plot to break into Academy Security to change records concerning an incident including illegal drinking and fighting.

Since graduation from the Academy, Josef has already served on two ships. Firstly, he was assigned to the Yeager, but he served their only for one mission, before requesting transfer to the Drake, as a result of a run in with the Yeager’s Captain, Joseph Valiant.

Onboard the Drake, Josef has been serving well, although in light of the recent mission, Josef has been questioning whether or not he belongs in Starfleet. While on the infected Starbase 289, Josef killed a man, and he feels no remorse, making him wonder about his life in the Fleet.

He was promoted to full Lieutenant by the incoming Captain Alanna Treborn, who took over after the loss of Captain Meor to the parasites that infected the Starbase.

Questions
Most Painful Experience: The most painful experience of Josef's life was being informed that his mother was killed while on a vacation to Riza. His mother was his only real parent in his life, as his father was rarely around.
Best Time: Josef loved all of the time he spent on Earth. He loved his time at the Academy more then any other time in his entire time on Earth. He loved learning about tactical systems, and how to pilot federation fighters and shuttles. He also met some very good friends at the Academy, including Catherine Greene and Chad Nelson.
Most Crucial Experience:

The most crucial experience in Josef's life was his life changing fight with his father. Although his father had never been the best dad, Josef had always thought that he was a good person. In that moment, that fight, Josef lost his ability to trust people. The longstanding hatred between Josef and his father's chief lieutenant, a Bolian named Graife Broht, also led to his quick wit and vicious temper.

Role Model: Josef's role model is Klingon Captain Worf. He loved the man's aggressive attack patterns and bold style. He also loved his sense of honor, and his determination to uphold his family's reputation.
