Personal History: Quillian’s childhood was nothing extraordinary.  He grew up living sheltered life, which may have had something to do with some of his anti-social tendencies.  His time was spent mostly on his or with his very small circle of friends. Throughout childhood, science was his passion.  He studied everything he could find, but space especially fascinated him.  He would spend hours at night laying on the hill behind his house, look up at the stars.  Quill also loved to read.  These two lead to his unpopularity in school. It also taught him not to open himself up to others, which usually lead to him getting hurt by those who he thought were his friends.  At the age of 17 his father. Captain Thomas Dramar, went missing along with the entire crew of the U.S.S., Tidal Wave NCC-7696. (For more information, see situation report BCGEH- 7696, Classified level clearance required). His relationship with his father had not always been the greatest. Thomas Dramar was away on duty most of the time.  It was at this point, Quill decided to join Starfleet. He applied immediately after graduating in the top 10% of his high school class. Dramar was accepted to Starfleet academy where he perused his passion of science by becoming a science officer. Cadet Dramar specialized in Physics and Astronomy. He also took basic command courses. Quill graduated 50th in his class and was promoted the rank of Ensign on star date 20108.04. His first assignment was the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E in the science department, star date 20108.05. Upon the completion of the Enterprise’s mission, Dramar was transferred to the newly commissioned U.S.S. Philadelphia FF-6053 under the command of then Captain Raymond Gage on star date 20108.16 where he served as Chief Science Officer. He continued to serve as CSO until he was promoted to First Officer under Captain Yssy Lanael. During his time as CSO, Quill begun to slowly break out of the shell that he had encased himself in as a defense mechanism. This was mainly due to his developing friendship with fellow crewmember Elisa Godard. During the next several missions he rose through the ranks to his current rank of Commander.  Star date 20211.14, his Mother and sister were killed during the Borg attack on Starbase 1 and the sol system. For his efforts during the war, he was awarded Gold Star and assigned as Executive Officer. Once the war, and things began to settle down, Quill began to develop his relationship with Commander Godard. It was during this time he was promoted to First Officer.  The relationship with Commander Godard ended leaving Commander Dramar in an emotional wreck. He managed to deal with is feelings and become stronger for them. His time as First Officer helped him to deal with the pain Godard caused him. As of stardate 20404.12, Quill was promoted to Captain and assigned as Commanding Officer, U.S.S. Sheridan DD-4086.

Questions

Most Painful Experience:

The most painful experience in Quill’s life would have to be when he learned of the loss of his mother and sister on Starbase One during the Borg invasion. He was transported to safety while they were left to die. This event and those he witnessed in the Romulan/Borg war continue to haunt him for years to come. Quill attended the graduations of his sister’s Starfleet class in an attempt to bring closure, but it did nothing but cause him more pain. As a result of this and other events, a part of him died.

Best Time: The best time in Quill’s life would have to be his time spent as Chief Science Officer. Quill had free reign of his own labs, a scientist’s dream.
Most Crucial Experience:

The most crucial experience of Quill’s life would have to be the time he spent with Elisa Godard, and their resulting breakup. It hurt him deeply, but also allowed him to break out of the shell he had constructed for himself.

Role Model:

Quill’s does not have one specific role model but a group of them. The Captains he served under; Gage, Lanael, Delacroix, Leeot, all helped to shape his career through their leadership. He also looks to the great scientist who came before; Einstein, Opienheimer, Nobel, Socrates, and  Cochran.
