Off-Duty Clothing Taste: She dresses comfortably, normally wearing colour that suit her skin tone, e.g. light reds or dark yellow for tops and brown or black trousers.
Distinguishing Features: The two sets of spots that run down the side of her body, as any other Trill.

Siblings Name & Ages: One sister : Maria Novak (unjoined, Novak is family name). She is 19.
Mother's Name: Karina Novak.
Father's Name: Davon Novak.
Parent's Status: Both still alive and living on Trill. Her father is a Senior research assistant at the Trill University in the main capital. Her mother is a teacher at a school for children (both unjoined).
Personal History: Laurianna was born on the Trill home world. She was welcomed with great relief when she was born as her parents had been trying for a baby for several years and to no avail. She was doted upon by her father greatly who spoiled her; however it changed when her younger sister was born 6 years later. Her father started to pay more attention to her little sister, and she became envious. Laurianna cut all of her little sister's hair off when she was one. However, this tension between the two siblings dissipated and they became good friends during their teenage years with her sister always coming to Laurianna for advice. She excelled at school in all of her subjects. She enjoyed most of her subjects such as Physics and History. Before she was joined with a symbiont, she longed to be joined with a symbiont, hearing so many stories of the experiences a joined Trill has only deepened her desire to become a joined Trill. Generations of knowledge poured into your brain as soon as a joining is complete. She knew it was dangerous procedure and the life afterwards would be plagued by the previous disturbing memories of hosts, but it would provide a new insight onto life. At the age of 18 she applied to Trill Symbiosis Commission to apply to become a host for a symbiont. She was joined with the Freya symbiont quickly after her application, at the age of 19, due to the host dying near Laurianna's house and the Commission contacted her asking if she could join with the symbiont. She was eager to and allowed the joining to be performed in her own house. She was prepared for the joining and bonded with the symbiont, after the joining she was overwhelmed with the sudden burst of knowledge and mourning of the loss of the previous host who had recently died due a medical outbreak at the research centre. The memories caused her to go into depression for a few weeks due to the horrific deaths of Janac and Mariala but she was able to pull herself out of it and carrying on working. For the next year she remained on Trill working for the Commission studying symbiont and host relationship, however she started to strive for more and decided to leave the Commission's post and apply to Starfleet.

So, at the age of 21 she applied to Starfleet and gained a place to study. She moved to Earth, her parents were happy for her and supported her greatly. She majored in pre-federation history and piloting to follow in the route of one of the previous hosts the symbiont had proceeded in. In many of the required courses she excelled in commanding her groups by drawing on the knowledge and confidence a previous host, Mariala Freya. On her survival training on Mars, she took command of the group she was in when the observing officer in command was seriously injured. At the Academy she took part in a variety of extra-curricular activities and exceeded in her studies, coming an overall 7th in her class. Her professors suggested that she would easily ascend up the ranks in Starfleet but she learned not become egotistical about herself, as it had been the undoing of the second host that carried this symbiont.
Previous Hosts' History: First: Palina Freya - She was the first host of this symbiont. Palina was a member of the Trill Government, as the secretary to the President of Trill.
Second: Janac Freya - He was a writer, he mainly wrote poetry that went against the current Government of Trill, and he was subsequently tried and executed for treason. The symbiont was going to be killed but the Commission overruled the Government on this matter and transferred it to a new host. All hosts after this have had been screened even more greatly to ensure that no treason would be committed.
Third: Yaden Freya - He was an engineer in the Trill defence grid. He lived a long life and died at the age of 78 this is the longest that this symbiont has resided in a host.
Fourth: Likana Freya - She was another writer to hold the symbiont Freya, she wrote mainly fiction to entertain the masses of Trill.
Fifth: Mariala Freya - She was the first host of the Freya symbiont to join Starfleet, she ascended to the rank of Commander and was given position of first officer of USS Melbourne, she was killed when the ship was destroyed during a skirmish of the First General War. Luckily the symbiont was able to be saved due to an emergency beam out of all the Melbourne crew, but she was already dead, they immediately transported the symbiont to Trill where it was re-joined with another Trill. This incident has given all hosts after this a severe fear of the Borg.
Sixth: Klorina Freya - She had many depressing feelings of the previous host and was going to apply to Starfleet but opted out due to how the previous host died. She committed suicide 10 weeks after the joining due to the feelings she felt from the previous host.
Seventh: Haril Freya - Was able to deal with the memories of previous host but couldn't join Starfleet. He remained on Trill and worked in Trill Medical Research Centre. He died due to an outbreak of a virus that was being studied at the Trill Medical Research Centre.
Laurianna is the eighth host of the symbiont Freya and the first to join Starfleet after Mariala's death.

Personality:

Has a large passion for life due to the previous creative hosts, she can be seen writing poetry sometimes. She likes to make jokes, but can become serious when there is the mention of the Borg. 

She is a very kind person, always looking for the best in people. She always stands up for what she believes; she thinks that she gained this trait from Janac, who was a militant person who spoke out against the government. 

She is someone you don’t want to get on the bad side of. She doesn’t use physical aggression to enact revenge but she using a lot more verbal ways such as embarrassing the person that has double crossed her.
Sense of Humor: She can be a very happy go lucky person, always looking for the better side of people. However, she can become very depressed when she delves into her previous host's memories deeply, especially Mariala's, Janac's or Klorina's due to them having the most extreme and upsetting memories.
Phobias: Has an innate fear of the Borg even though they were annihilated. Knives. as it was one of these Klorina used to kill herself.
Likes: Reading, Holonovels, extremely decadent foods.
Dislikes: Still has a fear of the Borg, even though they were annihilated. If they are mentioned she can have bad flashbacks to memories of Mariala's experiences. Arrogant people, they are many of them in Starfleet, the ones who believe themselves to be better then many others. Knives. as it was one of these Klorina used to kill herself.
Bad Habits / Vices: Has the tendency to make advances on men before taking a step back and making sure that they are suitable.
Pet Peeves / Gripes: Incompetence, if someone has difficulty with a certain task then they should have taken that task on and immediately tell a superior officer to reassign them.
Achievements: Joining Starfleet, as the events of Mariala’s life had stopped many hosts joining Starfleet and Laurianna managed to pluck up the courage to join.
Disappointments: The only one time she was disappointed was when her research project while working at the Trill Symbiosis Commission did not work and therefore 4 months of hard-work was irrelevant.
Illnesses: She has never had a major illness, apart from minor illnesses, which were not severe.
Strengths: She is quick on her feet, mentally; she is able to make split decisions which are a combination of her own mental prowess and the memories given to her by Mariala.
Weaknesses: She is not the most physically strongest person in the Galaxy and this has given her limitations with what she can do.

Questions
Most Painful Experience: The sudden burst of memories that she received after the joining to the Freya symbiont, the memories of the horrific deaths of some of her host made her very depressed and go into seclusion for a few weeks.
Best Time: Finishing her application to Starfleet and actually attending Starfleet as it seemed as if she was returning home.
Most Crucial Experience: The joining with the Freya symbiont as it radically changed her life after it, giving the urge to join Starfleet.
Role Model: Her previous hosts Mariala and Janac gave her the strength to believe in herself and her beliefs and therefore give her the courage to join Starfleet to further herself.
