Annayis lost her family just hours after she was born after the transport
her family were on crashed on Vega III after an ion storm. An hour after
the crash she was discovered by a human couple named Jaron and Liana Senegal
who were with a group of Archaeologists on an excavation project of ruins
nearby. Being the only survivor of the crash they decided to look after
her themselves after discovering the child's name and raise her as their
own. At age 7 however Annayis became more aware of the fact that she wasn't human and asked Liana what she really was. When she found out about how she came to be with Liana and Jaron upset her greatly and she asked to be taken to Bajor to meet with any surviving members of the Mayan family. At age 8 Liana took Annayis to Bajor where she met her father's brother and his wife and children and though Liana didn't like leaving Annayis, she knew that Annayis was better off with her own kind and let Annayis stay on Bajor for a month's holiday so she could get to know the Bajorans and make a decision on her life. After two weeks Annayis decided with the help of the Prophets that she should stay on Bajor until she was old enough to decide whether she wanted to join Starfleet. 8 years went by until she decided she wanted to be apart of Starfleet and at age 16 she applied to Starfleet Academy and she was accepted. From there she went on to become a historian, learning Federation history as well as the histories of many other cultures. Four years later she graduated top of her class and was assigned to the USS Excalibur as a Historian though after four years she no longer felt fulfilled and returned to the Academy to train as a History Lecturer at the Academy and as Academy Historian. She doesn't mind going on Temporary assignments from time to time but she finally finds her job to be fulfilling and loves the fact that she is helping others to become more than what they are now. |
